Export-Import Bank of India (The Bank) is an all-India premier financial institution engaged in financing, facilitating and promoting India’s international trade.

Eligibilty

Candidates must meet the following essential academic qualifications as on the date of eligibility:

  • Graduation: Minimum 60% aggregate marks / equivalent Cumulative Grade Points Average (CGPA), in a minimum 3-year full-time graduation course.
  • Post Graduation: MBA / PGDBA / PGDBM / MMS with specialization in Finance / International Business / Foreign Trade OR Chartered Accountant (CA).
    • Post Graduation course should be of a minimum 2-year full-time duration, with a specialization in Finance with minimum 60% aggregate marks / equivalent CGPA.
    • In case of CA, passing the professional examination is sufficient. Membership of ICAI is mandatory.
  • Candidates who have appeared / appearing for the final examination in Post Graduation or Chartered Accountancy to be held during January 2026 and are expecting their results in the year 2026 are eligible to apply. Membership of ICAI may be submitted upon passing of professional examination.
  • The University / Institute should be recognised / approved by Government / AICTE / UGC.
  • Candidates who have completed their graduation and post-graduation courses through correspondence/part-time/open university/open learning/external/distance learning are not eligible.

Important Note for Awaiting Results: Candidates who have appeared in their final qualifying examinations and are waiting for the results are eligible to appear for the written examination. However, the offer to join the Bank shall be subject to production of necessary documents evidencing successfully obtaining the requisite qualification by June 01, 2026, or joining date as prescribed by the Bank (whichever is later).

During the one-year training period as Management Trainee, candidates will receive a monthly stipend of ₹ 65,000/-.

Upon successful completion of the training period, Management Trainees will be absorbed as Deputy Managers (JM-I) in the Bank's service. The pay band for Deputy Managers (JM-I) shall be as per the Indian Banks’ Association (IBA) 12th Bipartite Settlement:

Pay Band: ₹ 48480 - 2000 - 62480 - 2340 - 67160 - 2680 - 85920

In addition to the pay, selected candidates will be eligible for allowances, perquisites and benefits, as applicable to the Grade as per Bank’s rules, prevalent at the time of joining. This may include residential accommodation (subject to availability or leased accommodation scheme) and schemes for loans (housing, vehicle, personal computer, children education etc.).

The selection process for Management Trainees will consist of two stages:

  1. Written Test
  2. Personal Interview

Candidates shortlisted based on their performance in the Written Test will be called for a Personal Interview.

There will be no sectional cut-off in the written test. The final list for interviews will be drawn based on the overall performance in the written test.

Final Selection: The final selection will be based on the overall performance of the candidate in both the Written Examination and Personal Interview.

  • Written Examination: 100 marks with 70% weightage
  • Interview: 100 marks with 30% weightage

The marks obtained in the written examination and interview will form the basis for final selection.

Examination centers: Chennai, Kolkata, Mumbai, New Delhi and Guwahati. Personal Interviews will be conducted in Mumbai and/or New Delhi.
