Eligibilty Criteria

Essential Qualification (For Category No. 1 to 3)

  • Candidates must be qualified in the Common Eligibility Test (CET) of Group-C.
  • Applicants must have passed 10 + 2 (Intermediate) from a recognized education Board/Institution.
  • Candidates must have studied Hindi/Sanskrit up to Matric (10th) standard or possess higher education with these languages.
  • No extra weightage will be given for any higher education beyond the essential qualification.

Selection Process

Criteria for Selection & Examination

The recruitment will be conducted strictly in accordance with the CET Policy for Group C, HSSC Rules 2025, and relevant Service Rules applicable to the Haryana State and Haryana Police.

(a) Qualifying Tests:

  • The Haryana Staff Selection Commission (HSSC) will invite an adequate number of candidates based on their merit obtained in the Common Eligibility Test (CET) for subsequent Physical Measurement Test (PMT) and Physical Screening Test (PST).
  • Both PMT and PST shall be of qualifying nature only.
  • Candidates equal to ten times the number of advertised posts for each category will be shortlisted for the Knowledge Test after qualifying PMT and PST.

(b) Physical Measurement Test (PMT) - Qualifying:

Candidates must undergo and qualify the PMT as per the standards prescribed in Appendix-B of Haryana Police (Non-Gazetted and Other Ranks) Service Rules, 2017. The minimum standards are:

The PMT is qualifying only. Candidates failing to meet the prescribed standards will be eliminated from further selection.

(c) Physical Screening Test (PST) - Qualifying:

Candidates who qualify the PMT will proceed to the PST to assess their physical fitness and endurance. The standards are:

RFID (Radio Frequency Identification Device) or other reliable technology may be used for accuracy. The PST is also qualifying in nature; failure to meet standards will result in elimination.

(d) Knowledge Test (97% weightage):

  • Candidates equal to ten times the number of advertised posts (who qualified PMT and PST) will appear for the Knowledge Test.
  • The test will comprise objective-type, multiple-choice questions, with each question carrying equal marks.
  • The medium of examination will be bilingual (Hindi/English), except for sections testing Hindi/English language knowledge.
  • Minimum Qualifying Marks:
    • For General Category posts: 50% marks in the Knowledge Test.
    • For Reserved Category posts (vertical or horizontal): 40% marks in the Knowledge Test (a 10% concession).

(e) Additional Weightage (maximum 03 marks):

  • Candidates possessing NCC (National Cadet Corps) certificates will receive additional marks:
    • 'A' level NCC certificate: 01 mark
    • 'B' level NCC certificate: 02 marks
    • 'C' level NCC certificate: 03 marks
  • Note: The NCC certificate must be issued by the Director General, NCC, clearly mentioning the Grade/Level (A, B, or C).

Syllabus

Syllabus for Knowledge Test (97 Marks)

The Knowledge Test paper will include questions from the following subjects and areas:

  • General Studies
  • General Science
  • Current Affairs
  • General Reasoning
  • Mental Aptitude
  • Numerical ability
  • Agriculture
  • Animal Husbandry
  • Other relevant fields/trade etc.

Specific Weightage:

  • At least ten percentage (10%) of the questions will be related to basic knowledge of computer.
  • At least twenty percentage (20%) of the questions will be related to basic knowledge about Haryana.

Standard of Questions: The standard of questions will be as expected of an educated person having passed the 10+2 (Intermediate) examination for the post of Constable.

Pattern of Examination:

  • All questions shall be compulsory.
  • The question paper will be Bilingual (English & Hindi).
  • The examination will be an offline (OMR based) written examination.
  • For every question, candidates will be provided four options to choose from. After selecting their preferred option, candidates must fill the corresponding circle in the OMR sheet.
  • There shall be no negative marking for a wrong option having been filled.
  • If a candidate does not wish to attempt a question, they MUST fill in the fifth circle/bubble in the OMR sheet. Failure to do so shall result in a deduction of 0.97 marks (negative marking for un-attempted questions).

  • No Modifications After Deadline: No changes, corrections, or modifications to the application form will be permitted under any circumstances after the closing date. Requests in any form (post, fax, email, by hand) will not be entertained.
  • Print Application Form: After successful submission, candidates must take a final printout of the online application form along with all uploaded documents for their records.
  • Retain Hard Copies: The hard copy of the online application form, along with all uploaded documents, must be presented when requested by the Haryana Staff Selection Commission. Documents not uploaded with the online application form will not be considered.
  • No Offline Applications: The Haryana Staff Selection Commission will not accept any offline application forms or downloaded copies of applications in any mode.
  • Eligibility on Cutoff Date: Applications from candidates who do not fulfill the qualifications/eligibility conditions on the cutoff/closing date will be liable for rejection. All certificates/documents related to educational qualification/eligibility conditions and experience will be determined with regard to the cutoff/closing date.
