The recruitment drive is for the following posts. The number of vacancies is subject to change (increase or decrease).

Note: The reservation for Other Backward Classes (OBC) is subject to ongoing litigation. As per the General Administration Department, Government of M.P. letter no. F-07-46/2021/A./Ek Bhopal dated 29.09.2022, the selection results will be released based on 87% for final selection (काल्पनिक) and 13% for provisional selection (प्रावधिक). The distribution of posts shown above follows this arrangement, with the 'Total (87% Final)' and 'Total (13% Provisional)' columns reflecting this split for the respective categories.

Selection Process

The selection process for Assistant Sub Inspector (Computer) and Head Constable (Computer) involves the following stages:

1. First Stage Examination:

Candidates must appear in both the written and technical examinations (where applicable).

• Written Examination (General Paper - MCQ):
  • Duration: 2 hours
  • Total Questions: 100
  • Maximum Marks: 100
  • Marking: +1 mark for each correct answer. No negative marking for incorrect or unattempted questions.
  • Syllabus Distribution:
    • General Knowledge & Logical Reasoning: 40 Marks
    • Intellectual Ability & Mental Aptitude: 30 Marks
    • Science & Simple Arithmetic: 30 Marks
• Technical Examination (Only for Technical Posts - MCQ):
  • Duration: 2 hours
  • Total Questions: 100
  • Maximum Marks: 100
  • Marking: +1 mark for each correct answer. No negative marking.
  • Syllabus: Based on Computer/Information Technology, Computer Networking & Software. Graduate level for ASI (Computer) and Diploma level for Head Constable (Computer).

Candidates will be shortlisted seven times the number of vacancies in vertical categories based on the cut-off percentile from the combined scores of the First Stage Written Exam and Technical Exam for the Physical Efficiency Test and Technical Practical Exam.

2. Second Stage Examination:

• Physical Efficiency Test (PET):
  • This test is of a qualifying nature only. Marks obtained in PET will NOT be added to the final merit list.
  • Candidates must secure a minimum of 20% marks (8 out of 40) in the 800-meter race.
  • Only one attempt will be given for the 800-meter race.
  • No relaxation will be given based on health or any other reason for the PET.
• Technical Practical Examination (Only for ASI (Computer) & Head Constable (Computer)):
  • Maximum Marks: 100
  • Minimum Qualifying Marks: 30%
  • This exam will assess technical knowledge of Computer/Information Technology, Computer Networking & Software.
  • Marks obtained in the Technical Practical Examination WILL BE ADDED to the final merit list.

3. Physical Standards Test (PST):

Candidates must meet the following minimum physical standards:

No relaxation in physical standards will be provided at any stage.

4. Medical Examination:

Conducted by the District Medical Board. Criteria include:

• Height measurement.
• Vision: No eye disease/disorder. Uncorrected vision acuity not less than 6/9 in one eye and 6/12 in the other. Candidates must be able to differentiate between primary colors (tested via Ishihara plates).
• No knock-knees or flat feet.
• No physical disability.

5. Document Verification:

All original documents will be verified by the selection committee after the Physical Efficiency Test. Candidates found ineligible during document verification will be disqualified, irrespective of their performance in other stages.

6. Character Verification:

Conducted based on guidelines from the Home Department, Government of Madhya Pradesh. Candidates providing false information or hiding facts will be disqualified.

7. Final Selection:

Final selection for technical posts (ASI and Head Constable Computer) will be based on the total marks obtained in the First Stage Written Exam, First Stage Technical Exam, and Second Stage Technical Practical Exam, provided the candidate has scored minimum qualifying marks in the PET and Practical Exam. Candidates will be allocated units/posts based on their merit, preference, and availability.

A waiting list of 15% of the total vacancies will be prepared, valid for one year or until the declaration of results of the next examination, whichever is earlier.

Syllabus

The examination will consist of two parts: a General Paper and a Technical Paper (for technical posts).

1. First Stage Written Examination (General Paper - Multiple Choice Questions):

2. First Stage Technical Examination (Multiple Choice Questions - for ASI (Computer) & Head Constable (Computer)):

• Duration: 2 hours
• Total Questions: 100
• Maximum Marks: 100
• Subject Matter:
  • For Assistant Sub Inspector (Computer): Graduate level Computer/Information Technology, Computer Networking & Software subjects.
  • For Head Constable (Computer): Diploma level Computer/Information Technology, Computer Networking & Software subjects.

3. Second Stage Technical Practical Examination (for ASI (Computer) & Head Constable (Computer)):

• This will be a practical examination based on Computer/Information Technology, Computer Networking & Software.
• Maximum Marks: 100
• Minimum Qualifying Marks: 30%

How To apply

1. Access Application Form: Visit www.esb.mp.gov.in and find the link for Assistant Sub Inspector (Computer) and Head Constable (Computer) Direct Recruitment Selection Examination-2026.
2. Fill Application Form: Fill in all details accurately. Candidates can apply for multiple posts (ASI and Head Constable) in a single application form by indicating their preferences. Failure to mark preferences for all eligible posts may result in non-consideration for those posts, even with high scores.
3. Upload Documents: Scan and upload the following documents in the prescribed format:
   • Color Photograph: Recent (not older than 3 months), clear, with a white background. The photograph must clearly show both ears. The photo should have the date it was taken and the candidate's name clearly printed on it. Avoid polaroid photos. If using spectacles for reading, take the photo with spectacles. Black goggles are not allowed.
   • Signature: Clear signature below the photograph. Small, capital letter, or multiple signatures are not allowed.
   • Handwritten Declaration: Candidates must write and upload the following declaration in their own handwriting:
     "I declare that all the information provided by me in the application is completely true. If any information provided by me is found to be false or unsatisfactory as per the eligibility criteria, my candidature can be canceled."
   • Date of Birth Proof: 8th/10th/12th mark sheet showing Date of Birth.
   • Caste Certificate: For SC/ST/OBC (Non-Creamy Layer) candidates from Madhya Pradesh, in the prescribed format issued by a competent authority, along with MP Domicile certificate.
   • Disability Certificate: For PwD candidates, issued by a competent authority.
   • EWS Certificate: For Economically Weaker Section candidates, issued by a competent authority.
   • Other Certificates (if applicable): Self-attested certificates for contract employees, NCC 'C' certificate, Gallantry Award certificate, Inter-caste marriage promotion scheme certificate, etc.
4. Payment of Fees: Pay the application fee and portal charges online using Credit/Debit Card, Internet Banking, or through an MP Online Kiosk.
5. Submission and Print: After successful payment, submit the application and take a printout of the computer-generated receipt and application form. Keep the application number safe for future reference (e.g., admit card download, corrections).
6. Application Correction: Corrections can be made online within the specified correction window for a fee. Ensure all details are correct before the final submission. No postal communication for corrections will be entertained.
7. Admit Card: Candidates can download their admit card using their online application number from www.esb.mp.gov.in.

Required Document

• Proof of Date of Birth: Birth Certificate OR 8th/10th/12th class mark sheet mentioning the date of birth.
• Educational Qualification Certificates: Mark sheets and degrees/diplomas for all relevant educational qualifications as per the post requirements.
• Caste Certificate: For Scheduled Castes (SC), Scheduled Tribes (ST), Other Backward Classes (OBC - Non-Creamy Layer), and Economically Weaker Sections (EWS) candidates. This certificate must be in the prescribed format, issued by a competent authority, and accompanied by the Madhya Pradesh Domicile certificate. The certificate must clearly state the officer's name, designation, office, certificate number, and issue date.
• Ex-Servicemen Certificate: For ex-servicemen candidates, along with the Madhya Pradesh Domicile certificate and proof of military service.
• Service Certificate: For candidates currently employed in government/semi-government organizations, a service certificate from their employer.
• Inter-Caste Marriage Promotion Scheme Certificate: For candidates claiming age relaxation under this scheme, a certificate issued by the competent authority along with the Madhya Pradesh Domicile certificate and caste certificate of the spouse. This certificate must be submitted before the last date of application.
• Gallantry Award Certificate: For candidates claiming age relaxation as Gallantry Award recipients, relevant award certificates.
• Children's Birth Certificate: For married candidates, birth certificates of their children.
• No Objection Certificate (NOC): For candidates already employed, an NOC from their current employer.
• Bank Passbook Photocopy: For SC/ST/OBC candidates from Madhya Pradesh seeking travel allowance for the examination, a photocopy of the first page of their bank passbook.
• Transgender Certificate: Issued by the District Magistrate in the prescribed format.
• All photocopies must be self-attested. Unattested copies will not be accepted.

Salary Criteria

The pay scales for the respective posts are as follows:

• Assistant Sub Inspector (Computer): ₹28,700 - ₹91,300
• Head Constable (Computer): ₹25,300 - ₹80,500

Note on Stipend: As per the General Administration Department, Government of M.P. order dated 12 December 2019, selected candidates will receive a stipend during the probation period:

• First year: 70% of the minimum pay scale
• Second year: 80% of the minimum pay scale
• Third year: 90% of the minimum pay scale

In addition to the pay scale, other allowances and emoluments approved by the government from time to time will be payable. A Defined Contributory Pension System will be applicable for employees appointed on or after January 1, 2005.
