The Rajasthan Public Service Commission (RPSC) invites online applications for the recruitment of a total of 12 posts of Protection Officer under the Rajasthan Women Empowerment (State and Subordinate) Service Rules, 2017 for the Women and Child Development Department. These posts are permanent, and the number of vacancies (which may be increased or decreased) and reserved posts are detailed below.

Important date

  • Application Start Date: 24.12.2025
  • Application End Date: 22.01.2026 till 12:00 AM
  • Online Application Correction Period: During application period and within 10 days after the last date of application (with a fee of INR 500/-).
  • Online Edit Option (Photo, Name, Father's Name, Date of Birth, Gender excluded): For 07 days, 60 days prior to the first announced examination date.

Fees

One Time Registration (OTR) Fee as per Personnel (A-2) Department Circular dated 19.04.2023:

  • General (Unreserved) / Creamy Layer of Backward Classes / Creamy Layer of More Backward Classes candidates: INR 600/-
  • Reserved Categories (Scheduled Castes / Scheduled Tribes / Backward Classes-Non Creamy Layer / More Backward Classes-Non Creamy Layer / Economically Weaker Sections / Sahariya Primitive Tribe) candidates: INR 400/-
  • Persons with Disabilities: INR 400/-

Note: Applicants from other states belonging to Scheduled Castes/Scheduled Tribes/Backward Classes/More Backward Classes/Economically Weaker Sections will be considered as General Category applicants. Hence, such applicants will have to pay the registration fee prescribed for General Category applicants.

If a candidate does not appear in 02 recruitment examinations conducted by the Commission/Board or other recruiting agencies in one financial year (April 01 to March 31), their online application facility will be blocked. To unblock O.T.R., a payment of INR 750/- will be required. Subsequent block will require INR 1500/-.

Age limit

As on 01.01.2027, minimum 18 years and maximum not exceeding 40 years.

Note: These posts were advertised by the Commission in the year 2024, under which the basis for age calculation was 01.01.2025. Thereafter, no advertisement was issued for these posts. Therefore, candidates who become overage as on 01.01.2027 will be granted an additional relaxation of one year in the maximum age limit as per the provisions prescribed in the rules.

Age Relaxation Provisions for various categories/other specific categories as per advertised posts:

  • Male Candidates belonging to the Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes, Backward Classes, More Backward Classes and Economically Weaker Sections of Rajasthan State: 5 Years
  • Women Candidates belonging to the Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes, Backward Classes, More Backward Classes and Economically Weaker Sections of Rajasthan State: 10 Years
  • Woman Candidates belonging to General Category: 5 Years
  • Widows and divorced women: No Upper age limit
    Explanation: In the case of a widow, she will have to furnish a certificate of death of her husband from the Competent Authority and in case of a divorcee, she will have to furnish the proof of divorce.
  • Ex-prisoners: The upper age limit mentioned above shall not apply in the case of an ex-prisoner who had served under Government on a substantive basis on any post before his conviction and was eligible for appointment under these rules. The upper age limit shall also be relaxed by a period equal to the term of imprisonment served in the case of an ex-prisoner who was not overage before his conviction and was eligible for appointment under these rules.
  • Cadet Instructors (NCC): Relaxation equal to the service rendered in NCC, provided the resultant age does not exceed the prescribed maximum age limit by more than three years.
  • Temporarily appointed persons in State Service: Deemed to be within the age limit if they were within the age limit when initially appointed, allowed up to two chances.
  • Persons serving in State, Panchayat Samities, Zila Parishads and State Public Sector undertaking/corporation in substantive capacity: Maximum age limit 40 years.
  • Released Emergency Commissioned Officers and Short Service Commissioned Officers: Deemed to be within the age-limit if eligible at the time of joining the Commission in the Army.
  • Persons repatriated from Pakistan during the 1971 Indo-Pak War: No age limit.
  • Reservists (Defense personnel transferred to reserve) and Ex-Service personnel: Maximum age limit 50 years.
  • Ex-servicemen (as per Rajasthan Civil Services (Absorption of Ex-servicemen) Rules 1988): Relaxation of 15 years in upper age limit. If permissible age after relaxation exceeds 50 years, then 50 years applies. For direct recruitment where experience of lower post is essential, maximum upper age limit of 55 years shall be applicable.
  • Persons with Benchmark Disabilities (as per Rajasthan Rights of Persons with Disabilities Rules 2018): Relaxation of 05 years in upper age limit.

Important Notes on Age Relaxation:

  • The above age relaxation provisions from point 01 to 13 are Non-Cumulative, meaning candidates will be given the benefit of age relaxation under only one of the mentioned provisions. Benefits of more than one provision cannot be combined.
  • After granting age relaxation as per points 01 to 13, additional relaxation will be given to candidates with disabilities as per point 14.
  • If a candidate avails any other concession (like age limit, marks, physical fitness, etc.) in addition to the fee, under vertical or horizontal reservation for a category, they will not be considered against unreserved (General) vacancies.
  • The retirement age for government employees is 60 years as per Rajasthan Service Rules. Therefore, the candidate's age should not exceed 60 years by the date of appointment.
  • In case of any legal dispute, the provisions stated in English regarding age relaxation for various categories/other specific categories shall be considered valid.

Payment Method

Application fees must be paid online through the Recruitment Portal available on the SSO portal (https://sso.rajasthan.gov.in).

Online payment of INR 500/- is also required for application form corrections.

Eligibilty

Essential Educational Qualifications:

  • Law Graduate (LL.B) / Masters in Social Work (MSW) from a University established by law in India.
  • Working knowledge of Hindi written in Devnagari Script and knowledge of Rajasthani culture.

Educational Qualification Related Provisions:

  • A person who has appeared or is appearing in the final year examination of the required educational qualification for the said posts shall also be eligible to apply. However, they will have to furnish proof of acquiring the educational qualification before the competitive examination conducted by the Commission.

Note: Applicants should apply online only if they possess the desired educational qualification, experience, and age. However, such candidates will have the option to withdraw their online application until the amendment date allowed by the Commission. Applying with false and incorrect information and not withdrawing it even if not qualified is a punishable offense under Section 217 of the Bhartiya Nyaya Sanhita, 2023 (BNS). Such candidates, if found ineligible during counseling/eligibility check/interview, will have their online application for this examination canceled and will be debarred from recruitment examinations for a period of three years.

Pay-Band: Pay-Matrix Level L-11 (Grade Pay - 4200/-)

Note: During the probation period, a fixed monthly salary (Fix Pay) will be payable as per State Government rules.

Candidates will be selected through a written examination. If required, the Commission may adopt Scaling / Moderation / Normalization methods for evaluating answer sheets. As per Rule 27 of the relevant service rules, names of candidates found suitable by the Commission will be recommended to the State Government / Appointing Authority, arranged in order of Merit based on marks obtained in the written examination.

Before filling the online application form for the said post, candidates must thoroughly read the instructions for applicants, detailed advertisement, and relevant service rules available on the Commission's website https://rpsc.rajasthan.gov.in. Only then should candidates apply online.

To apply online, candidates must click on the "Apply online" link available on the Commission's website or log in to the SSO portal https://sso.rajasthan.gov.in, select "Recruitment Portal" in Citizen Apps (G2C), and complete One Time Registration (OTR).

One Time Registration (OTR) Process:

  • For first-time OTR, candidates must mandatorily enter their name, father's name, date of birth, gender, secondary/equivalent examination details, Aadhar card details, and upload documents.
  • Candidates who have already completed OTR should log in through the SSO portal and apply online based on their OTR number.
  • No amendment will be possible in the candidate's name, father's name, date of birth, gender, secondary/equivalent examination details, and Aadhar card details in the OTR Profile after One Time Registration. Therefore, before OTR, ensure careful matching of details in Aadhar/SSO profile with academic documents. If there is any difference, proceed with OTR and online application only after making necessary corrections in Aadhar card/SSO ID entries.

Important Instructions for Online Application:

  • Before filling the online application form, verify the entries in your Aadhar card such as your name, father's name, date of birth, and gender, as information is automatically retrieved during One Time Registration. If the photo on the Aadhar card is three years old or more, update erroneous entries and the photo on the Aadhar card before applying online to ensure correct information is recorded in the application form. The photo printed on the admit card during the examination will be matched with the photo on the Aadhar card.
  • Candidates must upload their live photo while filling the online application form. Before submitting, review the live photo preview to ensure clarity and then submit the application.
  • It is mandatory to upload scanned photos of signature and left thumb impression while applying online. During the examination, a separate thumb impression will be taken on the attendance sheet in the presence of the invigilator.
  • Candidates must bring a new, dated photograph from the online application period to paste on the attendance sheet at the examination center.
  • Candidates desiring scribe facility must select the relevant option in their online application form. If this option is not selected, scribe facility will not be provided.
  • Applicants must clearly and necessarily enter details of all academic qualifications/experience acquired by the last date of application.
  • After applying online, applicants must receive an application number (Application No.). If an application number is not generated or received, it means the application has not been successfully submitted. The preview of the application form will not be considered as submitted.
  • If applicants face any problem while applying online, they should contact the Helpdesk Number or E-Mail provided on the Recruitment Portal.
  • Applicants should apply under the category they are eligible for. The Commission reserves the right to take action as per rules, including debarring, for providing false information or concealing facts.
  • Applicants belonging to the creamy layer of Backward Classes/More Backward Classes of Rajasthan State, and applicants from other states belonging to Scheduled Castes/Scheduled Tribes/Other Backward Classes/More Backward Classes (Creamy Layer and Non-Creamy Layer)/Economically Weaker Sections, fall under the general category. Hence, such applicants must apply under the general category.
  • After filling the online application form, candidates must necessarily take a printout of the hard copy of the application form.
  • Candidates should periodically check the Exam Dashboard on the Commission's website after filling the online application form, as all information related to RPSC examinations/recruitments is displayed/uploaded on the Commission's website. Separate notices/letters are not issued.
  • The Commission will not accept any other online or offline/hand-filled application form from the candidate under any circumstances, apart from filling the online application form as per the above process, and no offline correspondence will be accepted.

Online Application Form Amendment Information:

After submitting the online application, if an applicant finds any error, they can amend errors other than their name, father's name, date of birth, and gender displayed in the OTR Profile as follows, provided that the academic qualification must be acquired by the date/period specified in the advertisement:

  • If a candidate wishes to amend their online application form, they can do so during the application period and within 10 days after the last date of application by paying a prescribed online fee of INR 500/- (as per guidelines available on the RPSC website). No amendment/change will be accepted thereafter, and the entire responsibility for any such error will lie with the candidate.
  • The Commission will open an online edit option for 07 days, 60 days prior to the first announced examination date, under which amendments other than candidate's photo, name, father's name, date of birth, and gender can be made.
  • Due to the implementation of One Time Registration (OTR), no amendment will be possible at any stage in the candidate's name, father's name, date of birth, and gender in the online application.
  • After any amendment, the candidate will be informed via SMS, and the amendment will be confirmed via OTP.
  • The fee for all permissible amendments is INR 500/-.
  • No error correction will be made by the Commission after the examination.
  • No amendment will be accepted by the Commission in any other way than the above process, and after the above amendment process, the candidate will not have any legal right to make any offline/online changes.

SCHEME OF EXAMINATION:

  • The competitive examination shall carry 600 marks.
  • There will be two papers. Both papers shall be of 300 marks each.
  • Duration of both papers shall be 3 hours each.
  • Paper 1st will be a compulsory Paper of General Studies.
  • A Candidate must take any one of the following optional papers as Paper 2nd:
    1. Social work
    2. Law
  • All questions in both papers shall be multiple choice type questions.
  • Negative marking shall be applicable in the evaluation of answers. For every wrong answer, one-third (1/3) of the marks prescribed for that particular question shall be deducted. (Wrong answer shall mean an incorrect answer or multiple answers.)
  • Minimum passing marks shall be 40% in each paper.
  • Note: As per provisions in Rajasthan Civil Services (Absorption of Ex-servicemen) Rules, 1988, and Rajasthan Rights of Persons with Disabilities Rules, 2018, ex-servicemen and persons with benchmark disabilities will be given relaxation/concession in minimum passing marks.
  • All papers, unless specifically required, shall be answered either in English or Hindi, but no candidate shall be permitted to answer any one paper partly in Hindi and English unless specifically allowed to do so.
  • The detailed syllabus and scope of the paper for the examination will be as prescribed by the Commission and will be uploaded on the Commission Website separately.

Special Instructions for filling options in O.M.R. Answer Sheet:

  • Each question has five options marked as 1, 2, 3, 4, 5. You have to darken only one circle (bubble) indicating the correct answer on the Answer Sheet using a BLUE BALL POINT PEN.
  • It is mandatory to fill one option for each question.
  • If you are not attempting a question then you have to darken the circle '5'. If none of the five circles is darkened, one-third (1/3) part of the marks of the question shall be deducted.
  • After solving the question paper, the candidate must ascertain that he/she has darkened one of the circles (bubbles) for each of the questions. Extra time of 10 minutes beyond the scheduled time is provided for this.
  • A candidate who has not darkened any of the five circles in more than 10% questions shall be disqualified.

Documents for Verification:

Applicants will be eligible for benefits of specific categories (SC/ST/OBC/MBC/EWS/Outstanding Player/Ex-Servicemen/Scheduled Area/Widow/Divorcee/Disabled/State Employee/Non-Gazetted Employee/Ministerial Employee/Departmental Employee/Other) only if their documents are found correct during the eligibility verification with original documents after being declared qualified in the examination/main examination/screening examination. Therefore, ensure to submit the following documents for eligibility verification:

  • Caste Certificate: For SC, ST, OBC, MBC, and EWS candidates, the caste certificate must be issued by the last date of online application as per Personnel (A-2) Department Circulars dated 20.01.2022 and 17.10.2022. If not issued by the last date, and a certificate issued thereafter is submitted, the candidate must furnish an affidavit stating they were eligible for the concerned category on the last date of application and that incorrect information will lead to cancellation of appointment.
  • EWS Certificate: As per Social Justice and Empowerment Department Circular dated 06.05.2022, if a person had a previous EWS certificate but did not have one at the time of application, their eligibility will be considered based on an affidavit. If a candidate did not have an EWS certificate at or before the time of application, they will not be eligible for this circular's benefit. For married women applicants, the EWS certificate must be issued in the father's name and based on the combined family income of father and husband.
  • OBC/MBC Certificate: Must contain correct and complete entries for residence and creamy layer/non-creamy layer. The certificate must be issued by a competent authority in the prescribed format based on the income of the father and mother as per rules. For married women applicants of OBC/MBC seeking reservation benefits, it is mandatory to submit a caste certificate issued in the prescribed format by a competent authority based on their father's name, residence, and income, along with the detailed application form. A caste certificate issued based on the husband's name, residence, and income will not be valid. Creamy layer OBC/MBC candidates are not eligible for reservation benefits and must apply as general category.
  • SC/ST Certificate: Must be issued by a competent authority in the prescribed format. For Scheduled Area certificates, it must be issued after the notification dated 21.10.2019 and before the last date of online application. For married women applicants of SC/ST seeking reservation benefits, it is mandatory to submit a caste certificate issued in the prescribed format by a competent authority based on their father's name and residence, along with the detailed application form. A caste certificate issued based on the husband's name and residence will not be valid.
  • Age Proof: Secondary examination certificate is required for age calculation.
  • Outstanding Player Certificate: As per guidelines available on the RPSC website.
  • Disability Certificate: A disability certificate of 40% or more, clearly stating the category of disability, issued by a competent medical authority from any state in India. As per Personnel Department circular dated 28.08.2025, holders of pre-UDID certificates must get them re-verified and issued a Unique Disability ID (UDID) certificate through the Swavalamban portal.
  • State Employee/Non-Gazetted/Ministerial/Departmental Employee Certificate: Must be issued/held as per rules.
  • Widow Category Applicants: Must present husband's death certificate and linked documents (e.g., marriage registration certificate, ration card, child's birth certificate, voter ID, Aadhar card, domicile certificate in husband's name, etc.) by the date of category amendment.
  • Divorcee/Separated/Deserted Women Applicants: Must obtain a divorce decree passed by a competent court (as per DBSA No. 72/2022 decision of Rajasthan High Court, Jodhpur) by the last date of online application. If the divorce case is pending and the decree is not passed by the last date, the benefit of this category will not be provided. Widow/Divorcee women must submit an affidavit stating they have not remarried by the last date of application or by the date of category amendment.
  • Ex-servicemen: As per Personnel (A-2) Department notification dated 22.12.2020, individuals retired after earning pension or retiring within one year, with a NOC from competent authority, are eligible to apply. They must present retirement proof before joining. If selected before actual retirement based on NOC, the appointing authority may relax the joining period to within two months of retirement. Benefits for ex-servicemen are applicable only to ex-servicemen who are native residents of Rajasthan. If an ex-serviceman has already availed reservation benefits and joined a post under the Rajasthan Government, their ex-serviceman status for re-employment under Rajasthan Government will cease.
  • Marriage Registration Certificate: Mandatory for appointment to state service as per Government circular dated 22.05.2006.
  • Child Declaration: Applicants with more than two children on or after 01.06.2002 are ineligible, with specified exceptions for increase in children from existing number, single birth from subsequent delivery, disabled child not counted, and remarriage without violating law. This rule does not apply to widow, divorcee/separated/deserted women. An affidavit regarding this is required.
  • Character Certificate: From the last educational institution, mentioning at least "Good" character.
  • Police Verification Certificate: After selection, certifying no criminal cases or convictions that hinder state service appointment.
  • Medical Examination Certificate: After selection, from a competent authority, certifying fitness for state service.
  • No Objection Certificate (NOC): For candidates already in government service (Central/State/PSUs) who are selected.
