Age limit

  • Age relaxation for reserved categories (SC, ST, OBC of Uttar Pradesh domicile, skilled players, UP State Government employees, Basic Education Council teachers/non-teaching staff, teachers/employees in aided secondary schools) is 05 years.
  • Age relaxation for Emergency Commissioned Officers/Short Service Commissioned Officers/Ex-Servicemen is service period + 3 years (must be released from army by last application date).

  • Registration: Must be duly registered as a Vaidya or Hakeem with the Board of Indian Medicine, Uttar Pradesh.
  • Experience: At least 6 months of professional experience in an Ayurvedic, Unani, or Allopathic hospital or dispensary of the state.
  • Preferential Qualification: A postgraduate degree in Ayurveda or Unani Tib from a recognized institution. Preference will also be given to candidates who have served in the Territorial Army for a minimum period of two years or obtained a 'B' certificate of the National Cadet Corps.
Veterinary Officer
  • Essential Qualification: A Bachelor of Veterinary Science and Animal Husbandry (B.V.Sc. & A.H.) degree from a university established by law in India or an equivalent recognized degree, or other veterinary qualifications recognized as defined in clause (c) of section 2 of the Indian Veterinary Council Act, 1984 (Act No. 52 of 1984) as amended from time to time.
  • Registration: Must be duly registered with the Uttar Pradesh Veterinary Council.
  • Equivalent Qualification: B.V.Sc. (Bachelor of Veterinary Science), G.B.V.C. (Graduate of Bengal Veterinary College or Graduate of Bihar Veterinary College or Graduate of Bombay Veterinary College), G.M.V.C. (Graduate of Madras Veterinary College), L.V.P. (Licensed Veterinary Practitioner) and M.R.C.V.S. (Member of Royal College of Veterinary Surgeon), B.Vet. Medi. (Bachelor of Veterinary Medicine), B.V.M. (Bachelor of Veterinary Medicine), B.V.Sc. (Bachelor of Veterinary Science) mentioned in the Second Schedule of the Act.
  • Preferential Qualification: Preference will be given to candidates with a Postgraduate Degree/Diploma or higher qualification; or who have served in the Territorial Army for a minimum period of two years; or obtained a 'B' certificate of the National Cadet Corps.
Homoeopathic Medical Officer (Homoeopathy Directorate)
  • Essential Qualification: A recognized degree in Homoeopathy, the period of study or curriculum of which is not less than five years. OR a recognized diploma in Homoeopathy, the period of study or curriculum of which is not less than four years.
  • Registration: The applicant must be duly registered with the Homoeopathic Medicine Board, Uttar Pradesh.
  • Preferential Qualification: Preference will be given to candidates who have served in the Territorial Army for a minimum period of two years or obtained a 'B' certificate of the National Cadet Corps.
Health Education Officer
  • Essential Qualification: For direct recruitment, the candidate must possess a postgraduate degree in Sociology or any subject of Social Science from a recognized university.
  • Note: As per Government Order No. 518/5-10-2024, dated 30.10.2024, subjects included under "any subject of Social Science" for essential educational qualification are: (1) Sociology (2) Anthropology (3) Psychology (4) Social Psychology (5) Political Science (6) Geography (7) History and (8) Economics.
  • Preferential Qualification: Preference will be given to candidates with experience in extension work; or training under family welfare program; or who have served in the Territorial Army for a minimum period of two years; or obtained a 'B' certificate of the National Cadet Corps.
Medical Officer (Ayurved)
  • Essential Qualification: A degree in Ayurveda from a university established by law in India or a five-year degree or diploma in Ayurveda from the Indian Medicine Board, Uttar Pradesh.
  • Registration: Registration as a Vaidya with the Indian Medicine Board, Uttar Pradesh.
  • Experience: At least 06 months of professional experience in a state Ayurvedic or Allopathic hospital or dispensary.
  • Preferential Qualification: Postgraduate degree in Ayurveda from a recognized institution.
Dental Surgeon
  • Essential Qualification: For direct recruitment, it is essential that the candidate holds a B.D.S. (Bachelor of Dental Surgery) degree from a recognized university or an equivalent qualification recognized by the Indian Dental Council.
  • Note: 1. Certificate of completion of mandatory rotary internship must be obtained before the last date of online application. 2. BDS registration with the Uttar Pradesh Dental Council is required.

Drug Inspector
  • Essential Qualification: (1) A degree in Pharmacy or Pharmaceutical Sciences or Medicine with specialization in Clinical Pharmacology or Microbiology or an equivalent degree from a recognized university.
  • (2) (a) 18 months of experience in the manufacture of at least one substance specified in Schedule 'C' of the Drugs and Cosmetics Rules, 1945; or
  • (b) 18 months of experience in testing at least one substance specified in Schedule 'C' of the Drugs and Cosmetics Rules, 1945, in a laboratory approved by the licensing authority for the purpose of testing; or
  • (c) Three years of experience in inspecting firms manufacturing any substance specified in Schedule 'C' of the Drugs and Cosmetics Rules, 1945, during service as a Drug Inspector in any State or Central Government.
  • Equivalent Qualification: B.Pharma or Bachelor in Pharmaceutical Sciences or Bachelor in Medicine with Specialization in Clinical Pharmacology or Microbiology or Pharm D.
  • Preferential Qualification: Preference will be given to candidates who have served in the Territorial Army for a minimum period of two years or obtained a 'B' certificate of the National Cadet Corps.
  • Note: For essential qualification, an experience certificate issued by the competent authority regarding substances specified in Schedule 'C' of the Drugs and Cosmetics Rules, 1945, which is verified by the Drug Controller of that state (where the company/firm is located), is required.
Medical Officer (Unani)
  • Essential Qualification: A degree in Unani Tib from a university established by law in India or a five-year degree or diploma in Unani Tib from the Indian Medicine Board, Uttar Pradesh.
  • Registration: Registration as a Hakeem with the Indian Medicine Board, Uttar Pradesh.
  • Experience: At least 06 months of professional experience in a state Unani or Allopathic hospital or dispensary.
  • Preferential Qualification: Postgraduate degree in Unani Tib from a recognized institution.
Medical Officer (Homoeopathic) - Labour Dept.
  • Essential Qualification: (1) A recognized degree in Homoeopathy, the period of study or curriculum of which is not less than five years. Or a recognized diploma in Homoeopathy, the period of study or curriculum of which is not less than four years. (Degree holders will be given preference).
  • (2) The applicant must be duly registered with the Homoeopathic Medicine Board, Uttar Pradesh.
  • Preferential Qualification: Preference will be given to candidates who have served in the Territorial Army for a minimum period of two years or obtained a 'B' certificate of the National Cadet Corps.
Vetting Officer
  • Essential Qualification: A Bachelor of Arts degree (with English Literature or Hindi Literature as one subject) or Bachelor of Science degree or Bachelor of Commerce degree from a university established by law in India with at least 50% marks, or an equivalent qualification recognized by the Government, AND a three-year Bachelor of Law degree with at least 50% marks from a university established by law in India or a five-year Bachelor of Law degree with at least 50% marks from a university established by law in India.
  • Equivalent Qualification: As per Government Order No. 03/2023/312/47-Ka-2-312 LC/2022 dated 19.07.2023, regarding equivalent qualification for a bachelor's degree from a university established by law in India.

The selection process will primarily involve a Screening Examination, followed by an Interview. The detailed criteria are as follows:

  1. Merely possessing the minimum educational qualification does not guarantee an interview call or selection.
  2. The 'Uttar Pradesh Public Service Commission Direct Recruitment (Screening Test) Rules-2025' are applicable.
    • The Commission may conduct a Screening Examination to select suitable candidates for the interview.
    • Only candidates who qualify the Screening Examination will be eligible for the interview as per Commission standards.
    • The final merit list will be determined by adding 75% marks from the Screening Examination and 25% marks from the Interview.
    • The date, time, and venue for the Screening Examination will be decided by the Commission.
  3. Negative Marking: For the objective-type Screening Examination, a penalty for incorrect answers will be applied as follows:
    • For each wrong answer, 1/3rd (0.33) of the marks allotted to that question will be deducted.
    • If a candidate marks more than one answer, it will be considered a wrong answer, even if one of the given answers is correct, and the same penalty will be applied.
    • No penalty will be applied for unanswered questions.
  4. Candidates must correctly fill in the OMR Answer Sheet bubbles with the required information using a black pen, readable by a scanner. The OMR Answer Sheet will be evaluated based on the information filled in the bubbles. The use of whitener, blade, pin, or eraser on the OMR Answer Sheet is strictly prohibited. The candidate will be solely responsible for improper marking of bubbles or any incorrect information filled, leading to non-evaluation by the Commission.
  5. Minimum Efficiency Standard:
    • For Scheduled Caste (SC) and Scheduled Tribe (ST) candidates, the minimum efficiency standard is 35%. Candidates securing less than 35% marks in the screening examination will not be included in the merit/selection list.
    • For other categories, the minimum efficiency standard is 40%. Candidates securing less than 40% marks in the screening examination will not be included in the merit/selection list.
    • All candidates scoring less than the minimum efficiency standard set by the Commission will be considered ineligible.

Candidates must follow the steps below to apply online:

  1. One Time Registration (OTR): It is mandatory for candidates to obtain an OTR number by registering on the Commission's website https://otr.pariksha.nic.in at least 72 hours before starting the online application process.
  2. Online Application Submission: Applications will only be accepted online through the Commission's website https://uppsc.up.nic.in. No other mode of application will be accepted.
  3. Application Process:
    1. First Stage:
      • Visit https://uppsc.up.nic.in and click on "ALL NOTIFICATIONS/ADVERTISEMENTS". The online advertisement will automatically display, with three parts: User Instructions, View Advertisement, and Apply.
      • Click on 'Apply' for the desired examination. Then, click 'Authenticate with O.T.R.' and select 'Yes' or 'No' for O.T.R. registration.
      • If 'Yes': Enter your O.T.R. Number, click 'Proceed', then 'Click here to Authenticate' using the registered mobile number/email OTP or O.T.R. password. Your personal details (as filled in O.T.R.) will auto-populate. You only need to fill in the essential qualifications required for the post.
      • If 'No': First, obtain your O.T.R. Number from https://otr.pariksha.nic.in, and then proceed with the application as described for 'Yes'.
    2. Second Stage:
      • After completing the first stage, the 'Applicant Dashboard' will automatically appear on the screen.

    4. Fourth Stage:
      • After completing the third stage, your application form will automatically appear on the screen. Print it and keep it safe for your records.
      • In case of any discrepancy, this printout must be presented to the Commission's office; otherwise, your request/claim will not be accepted.
      • If any error is found in the eligibility after application, candidates can make corrections only once until the last date by clicking on 'Candidate Dashboard Login' on the 'Home Page'.
  4. Important Instructions:
    • Claims regarding category, sub-category, domicile, gender, date of birth, EWS, creamy layer, name, and address will be accepted only until the last date/correction date for online application. No changes will be accepted after this deadline.
    • Candidates are advised to regularly check the Commission's website for updates. All future notifications/instructions will be sent via SMS or e-mail to the mobile number and e-mail ID registered with O.T.R.

  • EWS Certificate: For Economically Weaker Sections (EWS) candidates, an income and asset certificate in conformity with G.O. No. 1/2019/4/1/2002/Ka-2/19 TC-II dated February 18, 2019. The income certificate must be for the financial year preceding the year of application for reservation.
  • Dependent of Freedom Fighter Certificate: For dependents of freedom fighters, a certificate in the prescribed format (as per G.O. No. 453/79-Vi-1-15-1(k)14-2015 dated April 07, 2015), obtained from the District Magistrate.
  • No Objection Certificate (NOC): Candidates currently employed under the Central or State Government must submit an NOC from their employer at the time of the interview.

  • Original Documents and Photograph: Original certificates will be required for verification during the interview. A passport-size photograph, attested by the Head of Department/Institution where the candidate received their last education or by a Gazetted Officer, must also be presented.

In case any certificate is found to be forged or fabricated, the candidate will be debarred permanently from all selections by the Public Service Commission and legal action will be taken under the relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code.
