The Uttar Pradesh Subordinate Services Selection Commission (UPSSSC), Lucknow, invites online applications from eligible Indian citizens for a total of 7994 vacant posts of Lekhpal under the Revenue Council, Uttar Pradesh, Lucknow. Candidates who appeared in the Preliminary Eligibility Test-2025 (PET-2025) and possess a valid scorecard are eligible to apply for this Lekhpal Main Examination. Shortlisting for the main examination will be based on the normalized score of PET-2025.

Special Note: The last date for submitting applications and depositing fees is 28-01-2026. No application/fee will be accepted after this date. Candidates will not be able to print their application form until the fee submitted by them is adjusted by the bank. Therefore, candidates must ensure that their fee is adjusted by the bank by 28-01-2026 or within 7 days thereafter, i.e., by 04-02-2026. During this period, candidates can also amend admissible details in their application form.

  • Dependents of Freedom Fighters, Ex-servicemen, Women, Persons with Disabilities, and Outstanding Sportspersons will pay the fee according to their original category as mentioned above.
  • Main Examination Fee: The examination fee for the main examination will be paid separately only by the candidates shortlisted for the main examination. This fee must be paid before downloading the admit card for the main examination.

Age limit

As per the Uttar Pradesh Lekhpal Service Rules, 2006 (as amended), for direct recruitment to the post of Lekhpal, candidates must have attained the age of 18 years as on July 1st of the calendar year in which vacancies are advertised, and must not have attained the age of more than 40 years.

However, for candidates belonging to Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes, and such other categories as may be notified by the Government from time to time, the upper age limit shall be relaxed by such number of years as may be specified.

Payment Method

Fee Payment and Adjustment Methods:

Candidates can pay the prescribed fee through:

No other mode of payment is allowed. After successful payment/adjustment of the fee, the application form will be automatically submitted, and the candidate\'s application form will be displayed on the screen.

Eligibilty

Only candidates who have appeared in the Preliminary Eligibility Test-2025 (PET-2025) and have been issued a scorecard by the Commission are eligible to apply for the Lekhpal Main Examination.

Candidates will be shortlisted for the main examination based on their normalized score in PET-2025. Candidates with an actual (absolute) score or normalized score of zero or less/negative marks in PET-2025 will not be shortlisted for the main examination.

Mandatory Educational Qualification:

As per the Uttar Pradesh Lekhpal Service Rules, 2006 (as amended), for direct recruitment to the post of Lekhpal, candidates must have passed the Intermediate examination of Madhyamik Shiksha Parishad, Uttar Pradesh, or any other examination recognized as equivalent by the Government.

Preferential Qualification:

In case of direct recruitment, other things being equal, preference will be given to candidates who have:

  • Served in the Territorial Army for a minimum period of two years, or
  • Obtained a \'B\' certificate of the National Cadet Corps.
