Eligibilty Criteria

Candidates must be citizens of India and satisfy all eligibility conditions including age, educational qualifications, and experience as per the Recruitment Rules (RRs) notified by the respective User Departments for the specific post they intend to apply for.

The crucial date for determining eligibility (educational qualification, age, experience, etc.) is 28th March 2026 (the closing date for online applications).

Vacancy Details 216 Posts

DSSSB has announced a total of 216 vacancies across various Group 'B' and 'C' posts. The post-wise distribution of vacancies is as follows:

Selection Process

The selection shall be made through examination schemes mentioned below. Marks scored in the Computer Based Test/Exam will be normalized (if required) to determine final merit and provisional nomination/selection.

• Examination Scheme: The examination typically consists of One-Tier (General or Technical) or Two-Tier (General or Technical-2) exams.
  • One-Tier (General/Technical) Exams: Generally 2 hours, 200 questions, 200 marks (MCQ). Comprises General Awareness, General Intelligence & Reasoning, Arithmetical & Numerical Ability, Hindi Language & Comprehension, and English Language & Comprehension. Technical exams include an additional subject-specific section.
  • Two-Tier (General/Technical-2) Exams: Tier-I (qualifying, 2 hours, 200 MCQs, 200 marks) and Tier-II. Tier-II (3 hours) consists of Part-I (MCQ - 200 questions, 200 marks on General Intelligence & Reasoning, Quantitative Ability, General Awareness (with Delhi emphasis), English Language & Comprehension) and Part-II (Descriptive - 75 marks for General, 50 marks for Technical-2, including Essay and Letter writing/Expansion of ideas in English). Final selection is based on Tier-II marks.
• Negative Marking: A deduction of 0.25 marks will be made for each wrong Multiple Choice Question (MCQ) answer.
• Minimum Qualifying Marks: The Board has fixed the following minimum qualifying marks for the written examination (Objective), wherever applicable:
  • General/EWS: 40%
  • OBC (Delhi): 35%
  • SC/ST/PH (PwBD): 30%
  • Ex-Servicemen: 5% relaxation in their respective categories subject to a minimum of 30%.

  Note: In One Tier Technical and Two Tier examinations, specific minimum qualifying marks apply to the domain subject-specific sections/parts, and candidates must also meet cumulative qualifying marks.

• Skill Test: Skill Test / Physical Endurance Test / Driving Test / Trade Test etc. will be taken as per requirement of the job for specific posts.
• Tie-Breaking Criteria: In case of equal marks, merit is determined by higher marks in the subject-specific section (for technical posts), then seniority in age, and finally alphabetical order of the first name. For general posts, seniority in age, then alphabetical order of the first name.

Syllabus

The examination syllabus varies based on the Tier and type of examination (General or Technical) for each post. However, common broad categories are:

• General Section (Common for most exams, or Section-A / Tier-I for multi-tier exams):
  • General Awareness
  • General Intelligence & Reasoning Ability
  • Arithmetical & Numerical Ability
  • Test of Hindi Language & Comprehension
  • Test of English Language & Comprehension
• Subject Concerned Section (Section-B for One Tier Technical / Part-I for Two-Tier Technical): Objective type multiple-choice questions based on the subject related to the qualification prescribed for the post.
• Descriptive Section (Part-II for Two-Tier Exams): This section, applicable to Two-Tier examinations, typically includes Essay writing and Letter writing/Expansion of ideas, all in English.

How To apply

1. Before applying, register on DSSSB's portal: dsssbonline.nic.in (one-time exercise).
2. Login using your generated user ID and password.
3. Carefully fill the online application form for the concerned post.
4. Upload a recent, clear colour photograph with a plain white or off-white background.
5. Pay the requisite application fees online through SBI e-pay (if applicable).
6. Review all filled details for accuracy before final submission.
7. Take a printout of the online application form for future reference.

Required Document

• Recent and clear color photograph.
• Scanned copy of signature.
• Educational Qualification Certificates.
• Experience Certificates (if essential or desirable for the post).
• Caste/Category Certificates (SC/ST/OBC/EWS) from a competent authority, if applicable. OBC (Delhi) Non-Creamy Layer certificate must be issued on or after 01/04/2025 but not later than 28/03/2026.
• Persons with Benchmark Disability (PwBD) certificate, if applicable.
• Ex-Serviceman (ESM) certificate, if applicable.
• Age Proof (e.g., Matriculation/10th class certificate).

Salary Criteria

The pay scales for the advertised posts vary as per their respective Pay Levels in the 7th Central Pay Commission matrix:

• Pay Level 8: ₹47,600 - ₹1,51,100/- (e.g., Junior Law Officer)
• Pay Level 7: ₹44,900 - ₹1,42,400/- (e.g., Assistant Manager posts, Reporter)
• Pay Level 6: ₹35,400 - ₹1,12,400/- (e.g., Assistant Grade – I (IT), Stenographer Grade-I)
• Pay Level 5: ₹29,200 - ₹92,300/- (e.g., Optometrist, Chemical Assistant, Assistant Microphotographist)
• Pay Level 4: ₹25,500 - ₹81,100/- (e.g., Radiographer)
• Pay Level 3: ₹21,700 - ₹69,100/- (e.g., Junior Radiographer, Meter & Relay Tester Grade - II, Katib, Patwari)
• Pay Level 2: ₹19,900 - ₹63,200/- (e.g., Junior Laboratory Assistant)
