General Eligibility Conditions:

  • Citizenship: Must be a citizen of India or Nepal.
  • Employment Registration: Live registration with the Madhya Pradesh State Employment Office is mandatory on the application date for all posts.
  • Permanent Resident: Permanent residents of Madhya Pradesh must submit a permanent caste certificate issued by a competent authority. Applicants who are not permanent residents of Madhya Pradesh can only apply under the Unreserved/Open category and will not receive any reservation or age relaxation benefits.
  • Physical Fitness: Candidates must be physically fit for the respective services.
  • Children Policy: Candidates with more than two living children, one of whom was born on or after January 26, 2001, are ineligible. However, if there is one living child, and the subsequent delivery on or after January 26, 2001, results in two or more children, they will not be disqualified.

Selection Process

The selection process will involve multiple stages:

  1. First Stage: Written Examination
    • Conducted by Madhya Pradesh Staff Selection Board (ESB).
    • The written exam will be of 100 marks (objective type, 2 hours duration) covering General Knowledge, General Hindi, General English, General Mathematics, and General Science.
    • Minimum qualifying marks: 33% for Unreserved, 23% for SC/ST/OBC, and a 10% relaxation in minimum qualifying marks for EWS candidates (selection based on merit).
  2. Second Stage: Physical Measurement & Physical Efficiency Test (PET)
    • For Forest Guard and Field Guard: Physical Measurement and Walking Test. Candidates will be called 5 times the number of vacancies based on written exam merit.
      • Physical Measurement: Male - Height 163 cm, Chest 79 cm (expansion 5 cm); Female - Height 150 cm. (Relaxations for SC/ST).
      • Walking Test: Male - 25 km in 4 hours; Female - 14 km in 4 hours. (Qualifying only).
    • For Jail Guard: Physical Measurement and Physical Proficiency Test. Candidates will be called 10 times the number of vacancies based on written exam merit.
      • Physical Measurement: Male - Height 165 cm, Chest 83 cm (unexpanded); Female - Height 158 cm.
      • Physical Proficiency Test: 800m Race (Male: 2 min 50 sec, Female: 4 min, Ex-Serviceman: 3 min 15 sec) and Shot Put (Male: 20 ft with 7.260 kg, Female: 16 ft with 4 kg, Ex-Serviceman: 15 ft with 7.260 kg).
    • For Assistant Jail Superintendent: Physical Measurement and Physical Proficiency Test. Candidates will be called 10 times the number of vacancies based on written exam merit.
      • Physical Measurement: Male - Height 168 cm, Chest 84 cm (unexpanded), 89 cm (expanded); Female - Height 155 cm.
      • Physical Proficiency Test: 800m Race (Male: 2 min 40 sec, Female: 3 min 40 sec, Ex-Serviceman: 3 min 15 sec), Long Jump (Male: 13 ft, Female: 10 ft, Ex-Serviceman: 10 ft), and Shot Put (Male: 19 ft with 7.260 kg, Female: 15 ft with 4 kg, Ex-Serviceman: 15 ft with 7.260 kg).
    • Physical Measurement and PET will be qualifying in nature. Video recording will be done for physical tests.
  3. Document Verification:
    • Original documents and attested copies will be verified during the physical test phase.
  4. Medical Examination:
    • Selected candidates will undergo a medical examination.
  5. Final Merit List:
    • A final merit list will be prepared based on the marks obtained in the written examination and successful completion of the physical tests.
    • In case of a tie in written exam scores, candidates' age will be considered for inter-se merit.
  6. Character Verification:
    • Character verification will be conducted for selected candidates.
  7. Training:
    • Selected candidates will undergo mandatory training.

Salary Criteria

The salary structure for selected candidates will be as follows:

  • Forest Guard & Field Guard: Pay Scale of ₹19500-62000 (Level 4).
  • Jail Guard: Pay Scale of ₹19500-62000 (Level 4) as per 7th Pay Commission.
  • Assistant Jail Superintendent: Pay Scale of ₹36200-114800 (Level 9) as per 7th Pay Commission.

Probation Period:

Selected candidates will be placed on a probation period of three years. During this period, they will receive a stipend as follows:

  • First Year: 70% of the minimum pay scale.
  • Second Year: 80% of the minimum pay scale.
  • Third Year: 90% of the minimum pay scale.

Upon successful completion of the probation period, candidates will start receiving full pay scale salary and other allowances as approved by the government from time to time.
