Selection Process Permanent
The selection process comprises of the following stages:
- Screening Committee Recommendation: Applications will be scrutinized by a duly constituted Screening Committee.
- Trade Test: Candidates who fulfill the eligibility criteria will be invited for a Trade Test in the relevant trade/discipline. This is qualifying in nature.
- Competitive Written Examination: Candidates who qualify in the Trade Test will be invited for a competitive written examination consisting of three papers (Paper-I, Paper-II & Paper-III).
- Paper-I: Mental Ability Test (Qualifying in nature).
- Paper-II & Paper-III: General Awareness, English Language, and Concerned Subject.
- Merit List Preparation: The final merit list will be prepared on the basis of the total marks obtained in Paper-II & Paper-III of the competitive written examination.

Written Examination Scheme:
Mode of Examination: OMR Based or Computer Based Objective Type Multiple Choice Examination.
Medium of Questions: English and Hindi (except for English Language questions).
Standard of Exam: SSC + ITI/XIIth Standard.
